Just a few tidbits about Christmas Eve

From Father Steve: “As most of you know; we do two services on Christmas Eve; 7:00 p.m. & 11:15 p.m. At the 7:00 p.m. service we usaully have a large group from the Country of Chili visit. Although most of them are fluent in English; I feel as a courtesy to them, that we do parts of the service Espanol; just a way of thanking them for being with us when they are so far from home. We began doing parts of the 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service last year in Spanish. This year we will expand a little more, with me doing more parts of the Prayer of Consecration in Spanish. I have been working this afternoon on putting together parts of the Book of Common Prayer and Altar Missal in Spanish. I also have a parishioner who is fluent in Spanish and will be assisting me at the 7:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist (La Santa Eucharistia). Our 11:15 p.m. Eucharist is all in English, and we will have our special classical violinist, Alexander Marte, and soloist/parishioner Mark Patterson. These two will also be performing at our Advent Lessons & Carols on December 18th, as well as several other musical performers – Blake on her trumpet with her sister Ella singing, and our men’s group from Faith Christian Fellowship in Williamsport.”
