Holly Place Assisted Living: Holly Place is an assisted living residential home in Hagerstown, Maryland, that serves lower income residents. Holly Place receives much of it’s funding from private donations and fundraising in the community. St. Andrew’s has partnered with Holly Place since 2009 to provide a monthly worship service which includes Holy Communion, and healing. St. Andrew’s also provides the residents with gifts during the major Christian Holidays.
Micah Backpacks: St. Andrew’s has been involved with the Micah Backpack program since 2011. The Church provides packed meals to students that meet a certain criteria as provided by the local elementary school guidance counselors. These meals are distributed on Fridays to these designated students in order to give them nutrition and food on the weekends. At St. Andrew’s we call these packed meals “Compassion Packs”.
Operation Christmas Child: St. Andrew’s has been involved with the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox campaign since 2008. The shoeboxes are packed with numerous gifts for boys and girls in divided age groups and ultimatley are shipped all over the world.
CROP Hunger Walk: Although CROP stands for “Christian Rural Overseas Program”, the program now has expanded to local fundraising to help stop hunger in our communities. St. Andrew’s partners with other local Churches during the Annual CROP Hunger Walk initiative in order to raise money for feeding programs.
Alcoholics Anonymous – A.A.: Thursday evenings, 7:00 p.m. in the Church parish hall.
Scleroderma Research: St. Andrew’s became involved with the fundraising efforts of the Scleroderma Research through intiatives that were brought to the attention of the Church by Hancock resident, Tori Anderson. Tori who has been diagnosed with the this disease; visits St. Andrew’s during the Wednesday Evening Services which includes the Service of Healing & Holy Unction. Tori is well kown to the Tri-State area through her on air personality with local radio station WAYZ 104.7, and also as the lead vocalist with the popular band – “Possum Holler”. One of the the big initiatives through Tori is called “Walk with Tori”. This is once a year gaithering meets in Hagerstown, Maryland that involves many activities. Through the ministry of St. Andrew’s; a Love Offering was raised by the congregation in 2015 and given towards “Walk with Tori”.
Marine Corps Toy 4 Tots: Partnership with the Marine Corps League. Church is collection location, and members volunteer at the distribution location, and assist with fundraising.
