Lent is Here: We are now in the Season of Lent, which began this past Wednesday (Ash Wednesday). During Lent, it is the tradition to “Tone things Down”, in our worship, and to add the emphasis on penitence. Here are the following changes to our liturgy during Lent: 1.) Silent Entrance Procession of the clergy and worship assistants. 2.) Added liturgical prayers (Today we will do the Great Litany.) 3.) No Gloria 4.) No Gospel Procession 5.) Rite I of the Great Thanksgiving 6.) No Alleluias!!!

Booklet is finished & available: The small spiritual reflection booklet that Father Steve began writing in January 2018 now available. The focus of this booklet is around the Holy Eucharist, and Father Steve’s early years, and final days with his late father, Roger McCarty Sr. If you would like a copy of this booklet, Father Steve would request you make a donation of at least $5.00 or more to the handicap building project. Thank You.

2019 Friday Evening Lenten Bible Study/Meatless Meals: We began our Friday Evening Lenten Bible Study/Meatless Meals, this Friday, March 1st.  Yes, we began before Lent this year in order to make up for there being no class this coming Friday Evening, March 15th. We gather on Friday Evenings (except March 15th.) at 6:00 p.m. for a meatless meal. Our Bible study time is from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This year, we will add a sixth & final class on Wednesday, April 10th. following the Office of Evening Prayer. The schedule for our Lenten Bible Study is also posted in Perry Hall.

Candy Egg Making Tomorrow Night: Candy Egg making, Tuesday night, March 12, in the parish hall, 6:00 p.m. Other dates: March 19th; 26th, at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall.

Additional Live Security Cameras: There are now (3) more live security cameras on the Church campus, bringing a total of (7) live security cameras to the Church campus.

Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting is two weeks away (March 24th). Meeting will follow the 9:00 a.m. service. Father Steve gives his “State of the Church Report” during the sermon. The meeting in Perry Hall is very brief. 

Father Steve & Melanie Away this Week: Father Steve & Melanie will be leaving this afternoon for South Carolina with an overnight stop in Williamsburg, Va.. They will return home next Saturday (16th) evening. During their time in South Carolina, Father Steve and Melanie will be Celebrating their grandsons (Liam and Evan’s) birthdays.

St. Patrick’s Day Party – Next Sunday – March 17th: At our fellowship, following the 9:00 a.m. service next Sunday, we will have a St. Patrick’s Day Party. Although “Purple” is the color for Lent, you are asked to wear something “Green” to Church next Sunday. 

Mardi Gras Party: Thank You to Marcel & Diane for the great Mardi Gras Party last Sunday!!

Father Steve Guest Preacher: Again, Fr. Steve has been asked to preach at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Parish, Hancock, during their Wednesday 2019 Lenten Preaching Series. Fr. Steve will preach on Wednesday, March 27th. at the 7:30 p.m. This preaching series is held in conjunction with the Daily Office of Evening Prayer. A potluck supper precedes the service of Evening Prayer beginning at 6:30 p.m. All are Welcome.

REMINDER: No Friday Night Lenten Program or Meatless Meal, this Friday, March 15th.
