Women of St. Andrew’s Cutlery Sale Underway: The Women of St. Andrew’s have a Cutlery Benefit Sale underway. Please speak to Jesse.

St. Andrew’s Vendor Fall Fest: Sandwiches; Soup, Pork & Sauerkraut. Many vendors are  lined up. Saturday, November 9th; 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Millersfarmstead.

St. Hubert Hunting Fellowship: St. Hubert (Hubertus), the Bishop of Liege 708 A.D., and died in 727 A.D., is considered the Patron Saint of Hunters. There is more to say about St. Hubert, however, the symbol that is used for St. Hubert is a picture of a stag (male deer) with the Crucifix between the stag’s antlers. To learn more about St. Hubert, go to our Church website. Father Steve is forming a local group (Only at St. Andrew’s.) of parishioners interested in hunting and parishioners who may not hunt, but lend support to hunters. Father Steve has already designed a t-shirt logo; took orders, and has placed the initial orders at Fastink in Mercersburg. There are initially two t-shirts: Camouflage & Blaze Orange. The t-shirts are Long Sleeve, and Short Sleeve. Father Steve is also taking orders for an embroidered zip up fleece jacket. The vision for the St. Hubert Hunting Fellowship at St. Andrew’s, is for all the hunters to Pray Before Hunting; Be Considerate of God’s Creation While Hunting; Make All Shots Good (Do not wound the wildlife.), and share when possible, their bounty with others. In January 2020 (Probably, Saturday, January 25, 2020), Father Steve would like to start having an Annual St. Hubert’s Wild Game Feast at St. Andrew’s that is open to Church members and invited guests. The Annual Feast will begin with a toast, then we will share a big meal, featuring the bounty God provided for the hunters.

St. Andrew’s T-Shirts: Father Steve & Melanie, dropped off an order to Fastink for our popular St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church “Growing in Love” t-shirts. These t-shirts will be ready about the same time as the St. Hubert t-shirts.

Kathi & Dave – Blessing of Marriage:  Two weeks away, Sunday, October 27th. at 11:00 a.m. following the 9:00 a.m. Eucharist, Father Steve will Bless the Marriage of Kathi & Dave at St. Andrew’s. This Blessing will include the Eucharist, and a Homily. All are invited to the Wedding Blessing, and Reception that will follow at Millersfarmstead.

Work Projects Around the Church: You may have noticed work projects are being completed or are under construction around the Church. The railing behind Perry Hall was fixed, and the hand rail in front of the Church was reinstalled. Our damaged retaining wall that was damaged several weeks ago was also expeditiously fixed. These projects were completed in a very timely manner thanks to Whooper. This week, Hardell Oil will be replacing the Church furnace, and also installing a heat pump in the Church. Almost all of the funds for the furnace/heat pump project, are coming from a grant that Father Steve requested from the Snyder Fund. For those who may be wondering what has happened to our Church sign? The sign is being refurbished at Tim Fraker Signs in Hagerstown.

Holy Land Trip: Father Steve, Melanie, along with Marcel & Diane Wenker, will be traveling to the Holy Land, Saturday, November 2nd. – Sunday, November 10th. During the 2 Sundays that Father Steve is away, the Rev. Anne Weatherholt, will be our Supply Priest.

Church Website: Our Church website is under reconstruction. Please be patient while the website is being updated. Our Facebook Page is going strong. The St. Andrew’s Facebook Page is the platform for our Livestreaming of all services. Also, if you do not have the Church Email service, please sign up for it, or have Father Steve add you to it. At St. Andrew’s our Email service is through Mailchimp. Practically 99% our Church mailing is through Email. The weekly announcements are included with the Church Email, and are usually available for reading, 4-5 days ahead of the copies lying in the pews on Sunday mornings.
