23 Sep Elimination of church services
MESSAGE FROM FATHER STEVE – October 23, 2019
Elimination of Regular Weekly Wednesday Evening Services*
One does not like to cancel Church services, but it has become apparent, that our Regular Wednesday Evening Service Attendance has drastically dropped off. We are now only averaging 4-5 people on Wednesdays, and only 2-3 for the Rosary.
All Regular Wednesday Evening Services, including the Rosary, and the transfer of Feast Days will be eliminated, effective October 2019, except as noted below.*
Severalother several other factors for me eliminating all the Regular Weekly Wednesday Evening Services.*
1.) The Altar Guild is overworked by setting up the Altar; changing the hangings; preparing the linens, and filling the liquid wax candles for both Wednesday & Sunday services. Our Senior Warden, Elizabeth Miller, brought this to my attention.
2.) Melanie and I, are now making frequent trips to South Carolina in order to visit Rhett; Beth; Liam, and Evan. Our Regular Weekly Wednesday Evening Services have also been putting a restriction on us from visiting Cade & Amanda, who reside in Carrol County, Maryland.
*However, we will continue to have Special Wednesday Evening Services throughout the year. These Special Wednesday Services will be announced in advance.
The following are a few of those Special Wednesday Evening Services that are NOT cancelled:
Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 6:00 p.m. – St. Francis Pet Blessing
Wednesday, February 26, 2020 6:00 p.m. – Ash Wednesday
(The 7:30 a.m. Ash Wednesday Services are being eliminated do to low attendance.)
Gloriosius est Servio
Fr. Steve+
