Feast Day Holy Eucharist this Wednesday: 5:15 p.m. Rosary. 6:00 p.m. Feast Day Holy Eucharist Rite I – St. Matthew Apostle & Evaangelist. (Transferred from 9/21)

Today – We Return to Adult Sunday School: Adult Sunday School, returns today. We meet in the Church around 10:30ish a.m. Father Steve has put together a lesson plan to study the Gospel of John. This lesson plan and study of the “4th Gospel”, as it is sometimes called, should take us well into Lent 2020. We will meet in the Church on Sundays around 10:30ish a.m. You may bring your beverages and snacks into the class. There will be (4)
Sundays in October & November that we will not meet for Sunday School. These dates will be posted in several weeks. Bibles are required for Adult Sunday School, please bring your own Bible.

Adult Sign Language: Adult Sign Language classes will continue, however, the classes will now meet on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in Perry Hall.

Holy Baptism – Next Sunday: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism, next Sunday, September 22nd. at 9:00 a.m. Father Steve has a young girl traveling from Baltimore to be Baptized here at St. Andrew’s.  

Samaritan Purse Fund – Operation Christmas Child: “Officially” our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Campaign for 2019 has begun. Collection date is Sunday, November 17th. Questions – see Melanie.

Benjamin Benner & Brenna Reid Wedding: It was a Beautiful Wedding & Reception yesterday for Benjamin Benner and Brenna Reid (Now Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Benner). Father Steve Officiated the wedding at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, Maryland. Brenna is the daughter of Kent & Sheila Reid.

FFA Fall Fest: Saturday, September 28th. Again, St. Andrew’s will have a tent set up, and give out pinwheels to children. This year we will also have a table for the children to color their own “Flat Jesus”. Volunteers are needed. Any questions see Kent Reid.

Clear Spring Elementary School Supplies Needed: Composition books; crayons; colored pencils; scissors, glue sticks, etc. You may also go to the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Ladies Facebook page and read what is needed. See Amy Babbie

Going Purple  – Opiate Awareness- Sunday September 29th: September is Opiate Awareness Month, and Washington County goes Purple. On September 29th, Father Steve will ask our Altar Guild to use the Purple Paraments. Your Priest & Deacon will be in Purple Vestments. The congregation is asked to wear Purple on Sunday, September 29th.

C.R.O.P. Walk to Fight Hunger: Sunday, October 6th; 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Western Maryland Rail/Trail at Big Pool. Elizabeth Miller is our CROP Walk coordinator. A collection tub is in Perry Hall for this event. We always have a great time at this event, and everyone can use the exercise!!

St. Francis Pet Blessing & Memorial Service: Wednesday, October 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. on the East lawn of the Church. This Annual service is to Bless our Pets, and to remember those that have going on before us in the past year. All pets are welcome – NO SNAKES!

Anyone Interested in Another Bowling Night?: It would be fun to have another night of bowling at Southside Bowl. How about it St. Andrew’s? Anyone want to put it together? We usually bowl the Duckpins. Maybe Father Steve will break 70 the next time.

Scott Slater, Visitation:   Saturday, November 2nd – November 10th: Father Steve, Melanie, Marcel & Diane Wenker traveling to the Holy Land (Israel). The two Sundays (2rd & 9th of November) that Father Steve is in Israel, The Rev. Anne Weatherholt will supply for Father Steve at St. Andrew’s
