Outside Church Service today at the Historic Woodmont Lodge Open House: Father Steve this morning, is Celebrating the Annual Outside Holy Eucharist, at the Historic Woodmont Lodge Open House, Hancock, Maryland. The outside service begins at 10:00 a.m., and the Open House begins at 11:00 a.m. Deacon John is remaining here at St. Andrew’s and handling the two Sunday services (7:30 a.m. & 9:00 a.m.) from Reserved Sacrament. For those not attending the outside service, you may still attend the Open House 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Feast Day Holy Eucharist this Wednesday: 5:15 p.m. Rosary. 6:00 p.m. Feast Day Holy Eucharist Rite I – Holy Cross Day. (Transferred from 9/14)

Father Steve & Melanie back from South Carolina & Ocean City, Maryland: Father Steve & Melanie returned from South Carolina this past Thursday. During their trip to Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, they helped their family prepare for Hurricane Doria. Also, while in Pawley’s Island, Father Steve & Melanie, traveled to a sandbagging location in Georgetown County, and volunteered for several hours, filling sandbags for local residents and senior citizens. On Friday morning, September 6th., Father Steve and Melanie traveled  to Ocean City, Maryland. In the afternoon on Friday, September 6th, at 5:00 p.m.,Father Steve had a wedding rehearsal on the beach in Ocean City, then on Saturday afternoon, September 7th, at 2:00 p.m. Father Steve Officiated the wedding on the beach.

Adult Sunday School – Returns Next Week: Adult Sunday School, returns next Sunday, September, 15th. around 10:30ish a.m. Father Steve has put together a lesson plan to study the Gospel of John. This lesson plan and study of the “4th Gospel”, as it is sometimes called, should take us well into Lent 2020. We will meet in the Church on Sundays around 10:30ish a.m. You may bring your beverages and snacks into the class.

Adult Sign Language: Adult Sign Language classes will continue, however, the classes will now meet on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in Perry Hall.

Holy Baptism: At this time, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism is planned for Sunday, September 22nd. at 9:00 a.m. Father Steve has a young girl traveling from Baltimore to be Baptized at St. Andrew’s. More details forthcoming. 

Samaritan Purse Fund – Operation Christmas Child: “Officially” our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Campaign for 2019 has begun. Collection date is Sunday, November 17th. Questions – see Melanie.

Benjamin Benner & Brenna Reid Wedding: On Saturday, September 14th, 4:00 p.m., Father Steve will be Officiating the Wedding for Benjamin Benner and Brenna Reid at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, Maryland. Brenna is the daughter of Kent & Sheila Reid.

FFA Fall Fest: Saturday, September 28th. Again, St. Andrew’s will have a tent set up, and give out pinwheels to children. This year we will also have a table for the children to color their own “Flat Jesus”. Volunteers are needed. Any questions see Kent Reid.

Clear Spring Elementary School Supplies Needed: Composition books; crayons; colored pencils; scissors, glue sticks, etc. You may also go to the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Ladies Facebook page and read what is needed. See Amy Babbie

Going Purple  – Opiate Awareness- Sunday October 29th: September is Opiate Awareness Month, and Washington County goes Purple. On September 29th, Father Steve will ask our Altar Guild to use the Purple Paraments. Your Priest & Deacon will be in Purple Vestments. The congregation is asked to wear Purple on Sunday, September 29th.

Scott Slater, Visitation:   Saturday, November 2nd – November 10th: Father Steve, Melanie, Marcel & Diane Wenker in Israel.   The two Sundays (2rd & 9th of November) that Father Steve is in Israel, The Rev. Anne Weatherholt will supply for Father Steve at St. Andrew’s
