Blessing of the Backpacks – Teachers & School Employees  & “Flat Jesus”: School backpacks; School Teachers; School Employees,  & “Flat Jesus” will be Blessed this morning. Washington County Public Schools for students begins this Tuesday, September 3rd. (After Labor Day!) AllSchool employees and teachers in our congregation are invited to be Blessed, you do not have to work in Washington County.

Father Steve back South Carolina & Ocean City, Maryland: Father Steve & Melanie will be back in South Carolina this week, leaving early tomorrow morning, September 2nd. They will be attending grandparents day at Liam’s Elementary School in Pawley’s Island on Thursday, September 5th. After attending the grandparent’s day events on Thursday, Father Steve and Melanie will be returning back home on Thursday evening. On Friday morning, September 6th., Father Steve and Melanie will be traveling to Ocean City, Maryland. In the afternoon on Friday, September 6th, at 5:00 p.m.,Father Steve has a wedding rehearsal on the beach in Ocean City, then on Saturday afternoon, September 7th, at 2:00 p.m. Father Steve will officiate the wedding on the beach. Father Steve and Melanie will be returning home Saturday evening. Travel Prayers are greatly appreciated! 

Adult Sunday School – Sundays 10:30ish: Adult Sunday School, returns on Sunday, September, 15th. around 10:30ish a.m. Father Steve has put together a lesson plan to study the Gospel of John. This lesson plan and study of the “4th Gospel”, as it is sometimes called, should take us well into Lent 2020. We will meet in the Church on Sundays around 10:30ish a.m. You may bring your beverages and snacks into the class.

Adult Sign Language: Adult Sign Language classes will continue, however, they will not be meet on Sunday mornings. Details are still being worked out on the times; day of the week, and location. Today is the last day that ASL will be held on Sunday mornings.

Outside Church Service at the Historic Woodmont Lodge Open House Next Week: Father Steve will Celebrate the Outside Holy Eucharist next Sunday, September 8th, at the Historic Woodmont Lodge Open House, Hancock, Maryland. The outside service begins at 10:00 a.m., and the Open House begins at 11:00 a.m. Deacon John will remain at St. Andrew’s next Sunday (8th) and handle the two Sunday services (7:30 a.m. & 9:00 a.m.) at St. Andrew’s. For those planning on going to Woodmont next Sunday (8th), allow yourself at least 50 minutes travel time from Clear Spring. Driving time from Clear Spring to the Woodmont Lodge turn off is about 30 minutes driving time. HOWEVER, the lane back to Woodmont Lodge is a long dirt/gravel road. You should allow yourself no less than 50  minutes driving time from Clear Spring to the Woodmont Lodge. This added travel time will allow you non-stress travel time to the Woodmont Lodge; park your car/truck; put on bug spray; set up your chairs; and RELAX. There are restrooms in the lodge. Bring a jacket and/or blankets if you wish – sometimes (even in September) it can be chilly at Woodmont. [GPS setting: 11761 Woodmont Road, Hancock, Maryland]

Holy Baptism: At this time, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism is planned for Sunday, September 22nd. at 9:00 a.m. Father Steve has a young girl traveling from Baltimore to be Baptized at St. Andrew’s. More details forthcoming. 

Samaritan Purse Fund – Operation Christmas Child: “Officially” our Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Campaign for 2019 has begun. Collection date is Sunday, November 17th. Questions – see Melanie.

Benjamin Benner & Brenna Reid Wedding: On Saturday, September 14th, 4:00 p.m., Father Steve will be Officiating the Wedding for Benjamin Benner and Brenna Reid at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hagerstown, Maryland. Brenna is the daughter of Kent & Sheila Reid.

FFA Fall Fest: Saturday, September 28th. Again, St. Andrew’s will have a tent set up, and give out pinwheels to children. This year we will also have a table for the children to color their own “Flat Jesus”. Volunteers are needed. Any questions see Kent Reid.

Scott Slater, Visitation:   Saturday, November 2nd – November 10th: Father Steve, Melanie, Marcel & Diane Wenker in Israel.   The two Sundays (2rd & 9th of November) that Father Steve is in Israel, The Rev. Anne Weatherholt will supply for Father Steve at St. Andrew’s
